TOUR
MARCH 2020 Morocco/Spain Tour
Just finished tour middle of March 2020. Well, yes that was 2 years ago now and what an interesting time it proved to be. We had flown from Seattle to NYC overnight flight and had to wait 14 hours to catch next flight from NYC to Madrid. We went downtown and performed at the NYC Port Authority Bus Station - they have a piano in the middle of their huge lobby. A week later NYC was on fire with CoViD19. We flew that night to Madrid spending just one night there before catching our flight out to Tangier, Morocco. A week later Madrid was on fire with CoViD19 too. We did a few performances in Tangier and then headed to Ben Ahmed and then Agadir. In Agadir I went to perform at my first venue ever in Morocco where I am loved - Le Vendome. Before I got to perform a fight ensued between security and 2 non-patrons just outside the front beach seating area. It looked like the security was losing the battle so I tossed my empty beer bottle (if it had been full of course this wouldn't have happened) at the embattled (missing of course). For my safety, security had me leave the premises so no performance that night. We did have a great performance however at the hotel we stated at this year - Hotel Le Tivoli. After Agadir we flew to Tenerife to stay at my favorite hotel on the island - The Mediterranean Palace in Playa Las Americas. They had purportedly 'cleaned up' after one case of CoViD19 but as time would tell it wasn't so. I was to perform with La Maquinaria Band at the Med but due to CoViD19 we were not allowed to share microphones. That very night Trump announces all Americans must leave Europe. So next morning I headed to England to stay with my friend Goody. Everyone on the flight to Manchester was coughing and not covering their mouths. I complained to the flight attendant and he said it was their personal choice and would not make an announcement that they should be covering their cough. I made it safely back to the US that week and never did I catch CoViD19 which is utterly amazing to me. Looking forward now in 2022 to performing again focusing my time on Las Vegas.
